A Trip Around LA

Hi everybody. Close to the DL

Santa Clarita, Beverly Hills and Pasadena. Excellent shows for the most part. At least from where I’m sitting. To be fair, if they were to sell my seat they would have to offer a discount. “Obstructed” would be an accurate description. The sight lines aren’t great. I’m angled towards Gord and it’s with difficulty that I can turn to see the band. What I hear is different from what the audience hears. By necessity I hear a lot of Gord’s guitar and a lot of keyboards. Very little of those other instruments. Not that that’s a bad thing.

There isn’t much to report  although Klutz-Boy (me) managed to trip on a step leading to the stage at The Rose in Pasadena. I was carrying my onstage computer in one hand and my backpack in the other. Everything, including me went flying. It was during sound check so I didn’t have that panic moment of “did the crowd see?” But still, half the band, our crew and the house crew saw it. How do you retain any sense of dignity in such a situation? Particularly when the slow speed with which you recover is interpreted as faking it? The truth is I had the wind knocked out of me and I re-aggravated a leg injury.

Those of you who are following the blog might remember a post in which I described falling off the stage in Toledo.  Such is the life of Klutz-Boy.
