Lock Your Doors And Pull The Shades …… We’re Back (maybe)

Hi Everyone
Well, it’s been a long wait, and nobody’s avoiding the tick-tock of the old biological clock, but we (Gord and band) are planning on going back out on tour. This is contingent, of course, on how restrictive the border will be in the next few months. The US is pretty much open for business, but Canadian authorities are playing it a bit safer.
We have impressively low infection rates, and we lead the world in the percentage of residents with at least one vaccine shot. My second dose is tomorrow, June 29.
But the variants, particularly the Delta variety, are of concern. Some people favor not letting anyone into Canada while this is a threat. Mounting restrictions could still mean easy access into the US for us, but we wouldn’t be able to go home.

C’mon, we know you’ve got room

Can any of you Americans put us up for a month or two? Sure, we’re noisy, and we eat a lot but wouldn’t it be fun? We’ll write a song about you and post it on YouTube with a video that clearly shows your house and your street. You’ll have no privacy, but you’ll be famous.
Celebrities and public figures forever have knowingly made that same trade, the deal with Beelzebub, the crossroads……
Don’t worry though, just like the people who get a great price on a house because it’s under a flight path, you can bitch to your heart’s content later and pretend that the public sympathizes.
Really though, I think that if we return to harsh measures, they’ll let us back in if we’ve had a Covid test 72 hours before our return and we quarantine for two weeks.
Here’s the thing: If I have to be sealed within my house for 14 days, I’m not sure anyone would notice. Embarrassing, but true.
